Bernanke confirmation hearings

As I write tonight, I'm listening to the Bernanke confirmation hearings via the C-Span website. It's going as I expected. Sen. Sarbanes held up a chart showing how our unemployement rate is so much lower than Europe's...and of course he reminded us that the European Central Bank has an inflation target.

Mr. Bernanke's response: "Senator, it was below that rate 20 years ago before the ECB was even created. I believe there are other factors that contribute to that difference."

Indeed it was.

Anyway, it's good stuff to have on in the background while blogging.

I think it's SO brave to appoint a man whose surname invites derisive rhymes and whose initials are BS.

Ben Bernanke. BS. See his middle name could be Sam..B.S. Bernanke...really dear, I think it's a stretch.

Bernanke bee cee dee fee gee hee lee mee knee see tee wee vee zee...ok maybe. The tri-syllabic surname counts for more though. Compare Greenspan. ban can dan fan (be)gan...
And compare faces. One look at Greenspan and you know that BRAVERY is not an issue anymore with the appointment of babyface Bernanke.
