River traffic on the Mississippi
The US Army Corps of Engineers has a searchable database of vessel locations. Among other things, you can use it to see where a vessel has most recently locked. Aside from boats used for recreation or excursions, the only registered vessel that has most recently locked at Upper St. Anthony Falls prior to the I-35 bridge collapse was the Patrick Gannaway. That vessel was pushing 2 barges. As far as I can tell, this is the only tow that is "stranded".
Lock traffic at Lock and Dam #1 appears to have slowed. A couple tows have departed downstream, but at this time I do not find any tows above L/D #1. Three large tows have moved upstream from L/D #2 in the last day, which is encouraging.
All of this would suggest that there has been some impact, but the wider world probably won't feel it. One stranded tow and a few miles of impassible waterway is the extent of it. I'll update this periodically, every few days, until the channel opens.

Warning Signs
For several years, inspectors noted potential problems with the Minneapolis bridge that collapsed. Was this a preventable disaster?

When we talk of the Chinese toys etc we look deeply into the silver oxide they contain and what level of mercury is in the foods.
Here we go for the huge bridges that need to be inspected ever year. I mean even out doctors tell us to have the body examined every year after you are forty in order to see the systems are working the way the creator had given to us. What do we do with the bridges? We forget that may be these were faults and the cracks because of shady workmanship. Or corruption.
What is more? It is with regret that Me., Bush goes later. Mrs. Bush goes first then the president fallow. Is this the love for Americans?
I doubt.
The whole Iraq war and the tired soldiers in Iraq , Afghanistan and the nuke program of the president is taking so much time of the president that he forgets who elected him and why.
Why is this cruelty shown to the public?
I have one answer. Let peace reign and call back your war leaders from the zones not wanted. South Koreans got the neck breathing experience by trying to help you. Help? I say this was lured power that they thought they will attain something in turn.
Mr. Bush you are failing the American in every manner. The houses according to the TV will be lying idle till 2015 or 2025. Till then what will the banks do? Look I am not American. But when you suffer, we in the sub Sahara countries suffer most. You can read this the Foreign policy that comes from USA.
