What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a way for you to keep up with new content on a web site without having to go back to that page every day.  On the main index page of my web site you will see this link:
Subscribe to feed Get updates to Econ 500 delivered to your RSS reader!

Click the link and you will be given the opportunity to subscribe to the content of my site in your reader.  Popular web-based readers include Bloglines, My Yahoo, and Google Reader.  There are some minor differences between the platforms, but basically you set up an account and then all of your subscriptions can be seen in one place.  If you use the same computer to check these sites, you can also simply use your web browser (Live Bookmarks in Firefox, for example).  Mobile options (i.e. iPhone, Blackberry, etc.) are also available (may be device specific, so check what is compatible with your hardware).

If you regularly keep up with online newspapers, blogs, or other frequently updated online content, then I highly recommend that you set up an account with one of these services.  You will thank me for it.
